I have already written the information for this post but it needs to be rewritten to include the professor feedback. (attached)
Please read the chapter in your text called Theories and Models Commonly Used for Health Promotion Interventions.
You will be introduced to various models and theories ( examples: Social Cognitive Theory, Health Belief Model, Precaution Adoption Process Model, Transtheoretical Model, to name a few).
Please select a model that you will base your final project on and write a 2 paragraph post educating your fellow classmates and I on this theory. In your post please include ( the background of the model or theory, any steps or stages in the model or theory, is your model/theory an interpersonal, intrapersonal or community factor concept and finally how you will use this theory in your final program proposal project).
Dont forget to cite the Mckenzie textbook
Please Rewrite the following to revise the professor comments
Target population: 12-18 latinas from the south bronx
The Health Belief Model is a value expectancy theory that hypothesizes that health-related interventions are based on sufficient motivation to make health issues relevant. The theory was developed in the context of circumscribed preventive health actions such as immunizations and screening (Mckenzie et al., 2016). It focuses on behavior change to attain a quality life. The Health Belief Model is associated with self-efficacy, where an individual takes personal initiative to change their behaviors to promote their health outcomes.
Asthma is a chronic disease that commonly affects children and adolescents. The goal of the program “Making Each Breath Count” is to increase knowledge on chronic asthma. The information given will include measures to reduce asthma relapse in adolescent Latinas between 12 and 18 years old. Since this program involves children, parents and families can also contribute to behavior change in their children by providing sufficient education concerning perceived susceptibility and outcomes. (Professor Commented:HOW WILL PARENTS/FAMILIES DO THIS? REMEMBER YOU SHOULD SOLELY BE FOCUSING ON YOUR TARGET GROUP ONLY)
( Professor commented : WHAT DO THESE TERMS MEAN? REMEMBER A FUNDER WANTS YOUR PROPOSAL TO BE VERY CLEAR AND TO THE POINT)
The Health Belief Model will guide health promotion and chronic asthma prevention among Latina adolescents aged 12 to 18. This model will aid in increasing perception about their condition. If the target population perceive the threats of chronic asthma to their life, and the perceived benefits outweigh the perceived barriers, they will change their behaviors, such as following the recommended preventive health action. Therefore, the Health Belief Model is essential in promoting adolescents’ health as they take personal initiative in accepting the recommended interventions against the prevention of chronic asthma. This will, in turn, increase their life expectancy and promote quality of life.
